Marlie Bucardo Perkins
owner & instructor

Marlie has years of experience in several different riding disciplines, which allows her to have a breadth of perspective around riders of different ages and abilities. Marlie's enthusiasm for the sport and her high energy ensure each lesson is unique and fun.

Altanero YJ

2011 PRE (Andalusian) gelding

"Nero" loves to be pat! He has a sweet and silly personality.

Nero is trained up through 2nd level dressage. He is very fun to ride, but he is forward and strong! For this reason he is ridden by advanced students. However, he LOVES kids and is great for leadliners as well.

Pepino

2017 grade pony gelding

Pepino is very smart . He is the boss of all of the horses at the barn. 

Pepino is super easy going and is great for riders of all abilities. He goes WTC and has been started over fences. 

 

Ferdinand

2016 standardbred x gelding

Ferdinand is very laid back and gentle. He is the tallest horse at Golden Vista standing at about 16.1 hands high.

Matilda

2021 Paso Fino pony mare

Matilda is brave and laid back. She has been recently started under saddle but she is kid and beginner safe.

Safari Captain

2015 criollo  gelding

 

"Capi" is smart and curious. He worked very hard in his past life and is now adjusting to a more laid back "surfer" lifestyle.

Amarillo (aka Spirit)

2014 criollo gelding

Amarillo was rescued in the beginning of April 2024. He was extremely underweight and was at a point of atrophy. Since then, he has been slowly putting on weight and gaining back muscle. Amarillo has had a long life as a work horse; nothing phases him, but he also has no idea about kindness. We are slowly teaching him about the joys of exploration, treats, and pats.

Bodhi

2019 friendly smoosh pup

Bodhi is our resident barn dog! He loves everyone and helping with lessons
